Description:

“The Maintenance Therapy Debate in Advanced Lung Cancer” will discuss current evidence as well as on-going research into the considerations for immediate second line therapy in advanced NSCLC.  In addition, a case study will be presented so that the data can be interpreted in a clinical context. The goal is to help clarify decision making regarding maintenance therapy.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the clinically significant outcomes including PFS, OS, QoL and toxicities for recent maintenance therapy trials in advanced NSCLC
  2. Discuss the factors to be considered when considering maintenance therapy for a patient including QoL considerations vs. potential efficacy benefits
  3. Apply current maintenance therapy data to clinical decision making as illustrated by the case studies

 

Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical oncologists involved in the care of patients with lung cancer.
