Description:

"Virtual Lung Tumor Board" is a case-based discussion highlighting current issues and changing dynamics in the treatment of NSCLC. The panel of experts will discuss the most appropriate management options for the cases and emphasize a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment.

 

 

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Select appropriate surgical, radiological and systemic treatment strategies for patients at different stages of disease.
  2. Outline the growing data on how NSCLC tumor characteristics (clinical and molecular) may point towards individualizing therapy
  3. Identify the role of adjuvant therapy in earlier stage NSCLC
  4. Describe the treatment of unresectable, locally advanced NSCLC and the controversial role of consolidation therapy
  5. Explain the treatment of metastatic disease (Stage IV) including 2nd and 3rd line therapy
  6. Cite recent clinical trial results exploring the use of targeted agents in NSCLC
Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical, radiation and surgical oncologists involved in the care of patients with lung cancer.
