Description:
"Virtual Breast Tumor Board: Neoadjuvant Challenges" is a case-based discussion that focuses on current issues and changing dynamics in the treatment of breast cancer patients using neoadjuvant therapies. The panel of experts will discuss the most appropriate management options for the cases and emphasize a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Describe the indications and contraindications to neoadjuvant therapy in operable breast cancer
- Discuss emerging and new clinical trial data for neoadjuvant systemic breast cancer therapy
- Cite controversies in performing sentinel node biopsy after vs. before neoadjuvant systemic therapy
- Identify novel cytotoxic and targeted agents and their utility in neoadjuvant regimens
Target Audience:
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons who care for patients with breast cancer.

Introduction
45 year old female in good health, no family history of breast cancer presents with a 3cm clinically node negative tumor in the UIQ of a small B cup breast.
52 year old presents with a 4.5cm mass in the LIQ of the breast. Mammogram confirms a unicentric mass and demonstrates a dense enlarged axillary node. Ultrasound confirms an enlarged axillary node.
