Description:

"Virtual Colorectal Tumor Board: Targeted Therapies in Advanced Cases" is a case-based discussion that focuses on integrating targeted therapies into the treatment of late stage colorectal cancer. The panel of experts will discuss the most appropriate management options for the cases and emphasize a multidisciplinary team approach to treatment.

Learning Objectives:

1. Outline how to implement evidence-based strategies to safely and effectively optimize cytotoxic and targeted agents for patients diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) based on the cases presented

2. Describe targeted therapy options in front-line metastatic CRC

3. Identify predictive markers including a patient’s KRAS status that may guide better selection of treatment approaches for individual patients

4. Recall the definition of resectable hepatic metastasis and the importance of integrating systemic therapy with surgery

5. Define a concept of continuum of care in Stage IV CRC including 1st line treatment and treatment for relapsed disease

Target Audience:

This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of medical oncologists and surgeons involved in the care of patients with colorectal cancer.
